Hunan exported 19.44 billion CNY of construction machinery in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 25%, according to the Changsha Customs Authority.
General trade has played a principal role while processing trade doubled. In the first seven months, Hunan has exported construction machinery valued at 15.98 billion CNY based on general trade, growing by 15.6%; 2.52 billion CNY based on processing trade, rising 128.8%; and, 890 million CNY based on bonded logistics, up 53.1%.
Waterway transportation has been the main transport mode, while railway transportation multiplied. During the first seven months, Hunan has exported construction machinery valued at 16.15 billion CNY via waterways, increasing by 26.7%; 2.56 billion CNY via roads and highways, growing 4.1%; and, 720 million CNY via railways, surging 110.9%.
Russia and Saudi Arabia are the main export destinations, while EU has seen rapid increase in imports from Hunan. Between January and July, Hunan has exported construction machinery valued at 2.75 billion CNY to Russia, accounting for 14.2% of the total; 2.36 billion CNY to Saudi Arabia, surging 103.5% and taking up 12.2% of the total; 2.64 billion CNY to 27 EU countries (excluding the U.K.), soaring 121.8%; 13.01 billion CNY to the countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, increasing by 14.7%; and, 1.29 billion to Africa, up 39.4%.
Changsha has been the largest exporter while Zhuzhou and Xiangtan surged rapidly. During the first seven months, Changsha has exported construction machinery valued at 18 billion CNY, increasing by 30.3% and accounting for 92.6% of the total. Zhuzhou and Xiangtan exported 110 million CNY and 96.33 million CNY of construction machinery respectively, growing 15.7 and 1.6 times which took the lead in all cities and prefecture around the province.
Data shows that in the first seven months, the average price of Hunan's exported construction machinery was 186,000 CNY, soaring 126.2%. This figure demonstrated the increase of the added value of Hunan's exported construction machinery, according to the Changsha Customs Authority.
