Participants attend a youth dialogue during the Thematic Forum on Culture Inheritance and Innovation of the World Youth Development Forum 2024.
The Thematic Forum on Culture Inheritance and Innovation of the World Youth Development Forum 2024 was held in Changsha on the afternoon of August 15. Leaders of relevant international organizations, representatives from cultural circles at home and abroad, and about 200 youth representatives from more than 30 countries attended the forum, discussing the integration and innovation of "culture + science and technology". Hu Baijing, vice president of the All-China Youth Federation; Gabriela Ramos, UNESCO's assistant director-general for social and human sciences; Zhang Jianfei, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress; Fatou Sow Sarr, commissioner for human development and social affairs of the Economic Community of West African States; and Sina Kalhor, deputy minister for youth affairs in the Ministry of Sport and Youth, the Islamic Republic of Iran, delivered speeches.
Seven Chinese and foreign experts and scholars, who are deeply rooted in the field of culture, delivered keynote speeches at the forum, focusing on such topics as the integration of culture and science and technology and how to use new technologies to promote cultural inheritance and innovation.
During a project roadshow for the Action Plan for Global Youth Development and a youth dialogue, youth representatives from the Economic Community of West African States, the All-Africa Students Union, Argentina, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, India, and China shared their respective projects and conducted exchanges and discussions.
The Special Issue on Global Youth Literature, the first collection of works of young writers from 23 countries, and an themed AI short video titled "Let's Write the Future Together", were released at the forum.
The forum was hosted by the All-China Youth Federation, the United Nations in China, and the Organizing Committee of the World Youth Development Forum, and undertaken by the China Youth Publishing Group and the Hunan Youth Federation.
