The 2024 Cross-Strait (Hunan) Youth Exchange and Development Conference opened in Changsha on August 8. Wu Xi, deputy director of the Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and Li Dianxun, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended the opening ceremony. More than 260 youth representatives from both sides of the Taiwan Strait participated.
With the theme of "Gathering the Wisdom of Youth, Bringing Together Cross-Strait Integration", the conference highlights youth exchanges and cooperation in the new era empowered by cultural creative designs and sci-tech industry innovation.
A series of exchange activities with youths as the main participants are scheduled, including the Cross-Straits (Hunan) Youth Cultural and Creative Design Competition, a cultural and creative bazaar, a discussion and practice on digital intelligent culture helping rural revitalization, a summer internship for Taiwan college students, an entrepreneurship exchange and study camp for college students, and a Hunan-Taiwan youth employment and entrepreneurship talkfest.
At the conference, awards were presented to the winners of the Cross-Strait (Hunan) Youth Cultural and Creative Design Competition. Taiwan youth representatives shared their experiences of internship, employment, and entrepreneurship in Hunan, as well as their perceptions. They also conducted in-depth exchanges on the inspiration and future trends of cross-Strait youth integrated development. Additionally, 1,000 job vacancies were released for Taiwan youths, covering the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries across the province.
Before the opening ceremony of the conference, the guests visited cultural and creative exhibition booths. Twelve Hunan and Taiwan enterprises and associations in cultural and creative industries, animation, and other fields displayed featured cultural and creative products on site.
After the opening ceremony, the Taiwan youth representatives will tour around Changsha, Yueyang, Changde, Zhangjiajie, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and other places for exchanges.
