In the first half of this year, Hunan Province exported 11.66 billion CNY of agricultural products, an increase of 23.6% over the same period of the previous year. The total export volume grew by 49.5% to 804,000 tonnes. Hunan's exported agricultural products accounted for 3.4% of the country's total, up 0.5 percentage points, according to the Changsha Customs.

Vegetables and edible fungi were the main exported commodities, while dried and fresh fruits and nuts export maintained rapid growth. In the first half of the year, Hunan Province exported 6.84 billion CNY of vegetables and edible fungi, an increase of 25.6% and accounting for 58.7% of Hunan's total exports of agricultural products. Exports of dried fruits and nuts reached 1.32 billion CNY, an increase of 179.7%. In the first half of the year, Hunan exported 7.61 billion CNY of agricultural products to Hong Kong, an increase of 31.9% and accounting for 65.3% of Hunan's total exports of agricultural products. The province exported 680 million CNY and 490 million CNY of agricultural products to Japan and Malaysia respectively.

Yongzhou City is the main force of agricultural product exports while Huaihua City saw rapid progress in this regard. In the first half of the year, Yongzhou City exported 7.21 billion CNY of agricultural products, an increase of 22.8% and accounting for 61.8% of Hunan's total exports of agricultural products in the same period. Huaihua City exported 760 million CNY of agricultural products, surging by 56.1 times and accounting for 6.5% of the total.

This year, the "fruit and vegetable integrated" fresh fruit and vegetable regulatory model reform has been carried out, helping improve quality and efficiency of the export of agricultural products export. According to the Changsha Customs authority, the model has been implemented in Yongzhou since this March, and then quickly replicated and promoted in Huaihua, which strongly enhanced the competitiveness of agricultural products from southern and western Hunan in the Hong Kong market.
