Guo Yuanqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee; Zhang Hongwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Anhui Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Hefei Municipal Committee; Sheng Yuechun, deputy secretary of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee and Wuhan mayor; and, relevant comrades in charge of NDRC and Nanchang City, attended.

Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests and thanked NDRC and sister cities such as Wuhan, Hefei, and Nanchang for their long-term concern and support for the economic and social development of Hunan and Changsha. He noted that in recent years, Wuhan, Hefei, and Nanchang achieved prosperous economic and social development with strong momentum. The comrades in Hunan were impressed by these achievements and recognized the importance of strengthening regional collaboration.

Hunan is now studying and implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions made during his inspection tours in Hunan, Secretary Shen said, adding that the province has continued to exert efforts to build itself into a national hub for important and advanced manufacturing industries, a sci-tech and innovation center with core competitiveness, and a pacesetter for reform and opening-up of China's inland regions. He expected to take this meeting as an opportunity to deepen exchanges and cooperation among the capital cities of the four provinces and to jointly promote the development of the city cluster in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River to a higher level.

The guests remarked that they will thoroughly implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speech made at a gathering aiming at propelling the rise of the central region in the new era. Efforts should be made to give full play to the platform role of the conference; promote the capital cities of the four provinces to further strengthen coordination in sci-tech innovation, industries, and interconnectivity; and, enhance the strength and driving force to the neighboring cities, so as to advance the rise of the central region from a higher starting point.

Provincial leaders Wu Guiying, Qin Guowen, and Zhou Haibing joined the meeting.
