Young Talents from the UK Visit Xiangjiang New Area

The Xiangjiang Science Tour was launched in the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area on July 22, with the theme of "Global R&D, Starting from the Xiangjiang New Area." The event was attended by 36 overseas young scientists and entrepreneurial team representatives from the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, and the Imperial College London. They interacted with representatives among the outstanding entrepreneurs and scholars of Changsha to discuss regional development and international cooperation.

During the 3-day event, the scientists and entrepreneurial teams will visit the Xiangjiang Intelligent Connected Industrial Park, the Xiangjiang Sci-tech Innovation Base, the Xiangjiang Digital Health Industrial Park, and the Xiangjiang Group, and will carry out project roadshows to promote investment.

Tan Yong, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha High-tech Zone) and secretary of the CPC Yuelu District Committee, said that the Xiangjiang New Area is committed to building a platform for overseas young scientists, international talents, and science and technology enterprises, serving as a bridge of capital, market, and industry matchmaking. He noted that global professionals are sincerely invited to learn about the Xiangjiang New Area and witness its development, and share development opportunities.

In recent years, the Xiangjiang New Area has established platforms, put forward policies, and improved services, continuing to bring together industries that hold great appeal to talents. As a result, outstanding talents and entrepreneurs have flocked here. The Xiangjiang New Area is now a hub for overseas Chinese affairs in the province as more and more overseas Chinese have come to live and prosper here. The New Area is home to nearly 60,000 overseas Chinese, including more than 10,000 returnees, playing a unique role in regional development and opening-up.
