The 2024 Changsha Marathon will take place beside the East Square of Helong Sports Center at 7:30 am on October 20, according to the organizing committee on July 22. The application will be available from 15:00 on July 23 to 17:00 on July 28. This year's participation quota will increase from 26,000 in 2023 to 30,000. The event features three categories: a full marathon (42.195 km), a half marathon (21.0975 km), and a fun run (about 5 km).
The year of 2024 marks the tenth anniversary of the Changsha Marathon. The race will coincide with the 2024 National Half Marathon Championship (Fourth Stop). The full marathon will accommodate 12,000 runners, while the half marathon will have 13,000 participants. About 200 people will participate in the 2024 National Half Marathon Championship (Fourth Stop). And a total of 5,000 people will join in the fun run.
This year's marathon course will mirror that of the previous year, starting at Furong Middle Road. The full marathon will end at the south gate of Helong Stadium, while the half marathon will finish at the west gate of the Binjiang New Town Exhibition Center, and the fun run will end at the entrance to the surface parking lot of the north approach bridge of Orange Isle.
The application procedures include pre-registration, entry fee payment, and an entry draw. Those who do not secure an entry in the draw will have their entry fee refunded. Runners can apply for the race via the official website of the Changsha Marathon, "Digital Heartbeat" APP, or "Mala Mala" APP. The application materials will be reviewed from July 29 to August 16. The results of the draw will be announced at 10:00 am on August 20. And the entry numbers will be made public at 10:00 am on September 20.
