A list of China's top 500 enterprises in patent strength for 2023 was released recently. Four enterprises from Changsha made the list, namely Zoomlion, Trunking, SNTO, and Farsoon. The Hunan-based enterprises on the list also included the Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd., Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (XEMC), and Hualei Optoelectronic Co., Ltd.

The list comprehensively evaluated Chinese enterprises' patent strength from the metrics of region, industry, and star rating, reflecting enterprises' strength in scientific and technological innovation. The top 500 companies for 2023 were involved in 63 industries. Enterprises were rated three to five stars according to their overall patent score. Among the shortlisted enterprises in Changsha, Zoomlion and Trunking were rated as 4-star enterprises, while SNTO and Farsoon were rated as 3-star enterprises.
