The Changsha Customs authority recently released the data of the cross-border e-commerce retail imports during the mid-year shopping spree, also known as the "618" shopping festival, from May 20 to June 18. During the period, Changsha Customs has conducted supervision of 277,800 imported retail parcels of cross-border e-commerce, growing by 232% over the same period of last year. The imported retail goods mainly included makeups, personal cleaning and care products, food, and healthcare commodities.

On June 18, warehousing and logistics staff were busy taking deliveries, checking orders, and packing goods in the cross-border e-commerce warehouses in the Changsha Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone. In order to ensure stable operation of the cross-border e-commerce business, the Changsha Customs authority has rolled out a series of customized measures for customs clearance and emergency response, streamlining the inspection procedures for cross-border e-commerce parcels. A cross-border e-commerce company has increased its commodity stock to more than 400,000 in the Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone, said a manager of the company.

This year, many cross-border e-commerce platforms started the mid-year shopping spree on May 20, extending the promotional campaign to one-month-long. The e-commerce companies in Hunan's bonded zones started to stock up on goods in advance. Statistics shows that, the cross-border e-commerce imported retail parcels were mainly delivered from the comprehensive bonded zones in Changsha, Yueyang, Hengyang, and Chenzhou. Among them, more than 80% goods were delivered from the Changsha Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
