Passengers with special needs, including the elderly, those with disabilities, vulnerable individuals, and pregnant women, may have concerns about potential inconveniences when using the metro. On June 14, reporters visited an "all-age-friendly" urban rail transit demonstration station on Changsha Metro Line 5 and found out that Changsha Metro Group has provided thoughtful services and created a barrier-free environment for these passengers. The services include a help button on a barrier-free intelligent service machine at the entrance, service counters at both standard and lowered heights, courtesy waiting rooms, wheelchair ramps, as well as mother-and-baby rooms equipped with wet tissues and warm water on the station platform. Those who are in need can make an appointment to apply for the escort service online or on site.
It was learned from the Changsha Metro Group on June 14 that the group is currently building the Metro Line 5 into an "all-age-friendly" urban rail transit demonstration line, and will carry out integrated service upgrades across the entire line network.
