On June 10, Cao Zhiqiang, vice governor of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with a delegation led by Sanjay Sharma, ArcelorMittal's vice president and CEO for China.
Cao Zhiqiang extended a warm welcome to Sanjay and his entourage. Cao noted that Hunan has a profound historical heritage, obvious geographical advantages, a complete industrial system, and strong scientific and technological strength. He added that Hunan is at the forefront of the equipment manufacturing industry such as construction machinery, rail transit, and small and medium-sized aero engines. In particular, the province is home to a large number of finished vehicle manufacturing enterprises and renowned auto parts manufacturing enterprises. It is hoped that ArcelorMittal Group will take Hunan as an important strategic base to accelerate the construction of an automotive steel research center, promoting more cooperation results between the two sides.
