As the Duanwu Festival holiday approaches, the Changsha Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town China-chic Paradise has launched its third Midsummer Han and Tang Culture Festival, offering visitors an immersive experience of various traditional Chinese festive customs.

The festival features two major events, namely the Tiangong Kaiwu (handcraft production) Festival and the Mulan Garden Party. The Tiangong Kaiwu Festival encompasses an intangible cultural heritage fair, a cultural relics exhibition, hands-on experiences, and street performances. The Mulan Garden Party highlights entertaining or interactive programs related to Duanwu Festival folk customs, including dragon boat shows, China-chic performances, fireworks displays, and activities such as shooting arrows, stones, or other weapons to defeat targets that represent the five poisonous pests, fishing zongzi, and making sachets.

During the Duanwu Festival holiday, nearly 20 intangible cultural heritage handcraft projects will be on display and for sale at the intangible cultural heritage fair, including rubbing, bamboo weaving, shadow puppetry, Tantou New Year pictures, paper cutting, oracle bone inscriptions, Nvshu (women's script), and calligraphy written in mud. Additionally, there will be two intangible cultural heritage skills sharing sessions every day, with craft masters offering DIY guidance on site. Tourists who have completed tasks as required can experience tie-dying for free, select porcelains for free, or be presented with a blind box.

A 20-meter-long corridor will be set up for the cultural relics exhibition, showcasing traditional windmills, Luban benches, muniu liuma (or wooden ox and running horse), wheelbarrows, Zhuge crossbows, and other objects. Muniu liuma refers to the famous wooden ox invented by the legendary military strategist Zhuge Liang during the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280).

In addition, visitors will also have the chance to watch performances such as China-chic dances and folk acrobatics, as well as a laser fireworks water dance show named "Dreamlike Tongguan Kiln".
