Secretary Shen Meets Cuban Communist Party Delegation

On June 3 afternoon, Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met in Changsha with a cadre delegation of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) led by Gladys Martínez Verdecia, member of the PCC Central Committee and first secretary of the Party Provincial Committee in Artemisa.


Li Dianxun, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended the meeting.



Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met in Changsha with a cadre delegation of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) led by Gladys Martínez Verdecia, member of the PCC Central Committee and first secretary of the Party Provincial Committee in Artemisa, on June 3 afternoon.


On behalf of the provincial Party committee and provincial government, Secretary Shen welcomed the Cuban guests, and briefed them on the situation of Hunan Province. He noted that Hunan and Cuba have deepened exchanges and cooperation in recent years. Cuba is known as the "Pearl of the Caribbean", boasting rich products and beautiful scenery. As a powerhouse in manufacturing, agriculture, science and education, and tourism, Hunan Province has strong complementarity and broad prospects of cooperation with Cuba. Hunan is willing to work with Cuba to implement the important consensus of the heads of both countries, further strengthening economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges, and making new contributions to building a China-Cuba community with a shared future.

On behalf of the delegation, Martínez expressed gratitude for the warm reception in Hunan. She also noted that through this visit, she witnessed the achievements of Hunan's economic and social development, and expressed a desire to learn from Hunan's development experience. She expected to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Hunan in the fields of renewable energy, biomedicine, agricultural industry, culture and tourism, to achieve win-win development.
