The China (Hunan) - Singapore Investment and Trade Cooperation Conference was held in Singapore on May 28, 2024.

Zhang Yingchun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hunan Province, and Zong Changqing, minister counsellor (Economic & Commercial Office) from the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, attended and addressed the conference.

Vice Governor Zhang spoke on the China-Singapore relationship and the economic and trade cooperation between Hunan Province and Singapore. She noted that Hunan boasts superior geographical location, solid industrial foundations, and strong driving forces for opening up, which are compatible with and complementary to Singapore's industrial development. The investment and trade cooperation between the two regions holds out great promise and bright prospects. She expects that the two sides will take this opportunity to enhance industrial and supply-chain collaboration in such fields as advanced manufacturing, modern service industry, and biological medicine, as well as cultural and creative industries, striving to build new models of investment and trade cooperation, and further consolidating and expanding the bilateral win-win relations.

Minister Counsellor Zong presented information about trade cooperation between China and Singapore. He noted that Hunan holds unlimited development prospects and business opportunities, thanks to multiple national strategies including the rise of China's central regions and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. He called on Singaporean enterprises to seize the opportunity to explore Hunan, as well as other central regions of China, making friends and seeking business opportunities. Singaporean enterprises are warmly encouraged to invest in Hunan Province and other regions across China, with the aim of actively contributing to the high-quality development of China-Singapore economic and trade cooperation.

The Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone, the Loudi Municipal People's Government, the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, and the Yuelu Mountain Laboratory Longping Area each made presentations promoting investment opportunities. The Capitaland Group, a Singaporean company, introduced its investments in China, with a specific focus on Hunan Province. Six projects from Changsha and Loudi were signed at the conference.
