At about 5:30 p.m. on May 25, a 54-carriage train loaded with 3,400 tonnes of iron ore set off along the Changsha New Port Special Railway Line, heading for the Jiangxi Pxsteel Industrial Co., Ltd., a steel company based in Jiangxi Province. The goods were shipped to the port only the night before the train departure. Previously, after arriving at Changsha New Port, these goods were transported to the steel company by road via more than 100 trucks. The "road-to-rail" business mode saved both the time and money.

Changsha New Port Special Railway Line started trial operation on June 26, 2023, only with the arrival service available. On April 18 this year, the railway line's road-to-rail departure service was launched.

From April 18 to May 18 this year, the Changsha New Port Special Railway Line facilitated the departure of 1,046 trucks carrying goods with a total weight of 70,000 tonnes and the arrival of 1,104 trucks carrying goods weighing 72,300 tonnes. The monthly rail freight volume exceeded 140,000 tonnes. This figure exceeded 100,000 tonnes for the first time since the special railway line began operations.
