In the first four months of this year, Hunan's export value of the three major tech-intensive green products, or the "new three"—new energy vehicles (NEVs), lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products—reached 2.91 billion CNY, increasing by 20% year on year. The Changsha Customs authority released the data on May 22.
Hunan has rolled out targeted policies and measures to support the high-quality development of NEV industry and Chenzhou's lithium-ion battery-based new energy industrial chain. In the first four months this year, Hunan has exported 16,000 NEVs with a total export value of 2.03 billion CNY, which grew by 154.2% and 122.5% respectively. The export of Lithium-ion batteries reached 680 million CNY.
Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Chenzhou ranked top three in the export of the "new three" products. Between January and April, Changsha's export value of the "new three" products increased by 30.8% to 2.31 billion CNY, accounting for nearly 80% of the total. Zhuzhou, Chenzhou, and Huaihua respectively saw a growth of the "new three" exports by 149.8%, 33.2%, and 320%.
Brazil has surpassed Mexico to become Hunan's largest destination for the "new three" export. In the first four months, Hunan's export of the "new three" products to Brazil and Mexico hit 860 million CNY and 510 million CNY respectively, expanding by 49.9 and 57.6 times.
