A press conference on the 2024 Hunan International Cultural Tourism Festival and the Trip Group Global Partner Hunan (Zhangjiajie) Inbound Tourism Conference was held in Changsha recently. It announced that the festival and the conference will take place in Zhangjiajie between May 31 and June 4.

Centering on international exchanges, the events aim to promote Hunan's international tourism consumption and upgrade the province's tourism ecosystem, according to a person in charge of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. It is expected to establish global platforms for cultural tourism exchanges and cooperation in Hunan, with the aim of accelerating recovery of inbound tourism. Trip Group will hold its Global Partner Conference in Hunan for the first time. More than 1,000 foreign guests from over 50 countries and regions who are engaged in high-end tourism will be invited to the conference.

Five major activities will be held during the period, including:
- 2024 Trip Group Awards Ceremony;
- The opening ceremony of the 2024 Hunan International Cultural Tourism Festival and the Trip Group Global Partner Hunan (Zhangjiajie) Inbound Tourism Conference;
- The Trip Group Global Partner Hunan (Zhangjiajie) Inbound Tourism Conference;
- Tours to Zhangjiajie and Xiangxi Prefecture; and,
- The launch of global promotion plans.

Hunan's inbound tourism has shown a strong growth momentum since the beginning of this year. The province received 406,100 inbound tourist visits in the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 14.28 times over the same period last year. Foreign exchange earnings from inbound tourism reached more than 127 million USD, a year-on-year increase of 23.71 times. In particular, Zhangjiajie received 261,200 inbound tourist visits, up 44.44% from the same period in 2019. The city's inbound tourists are from 101 countries and regions.
