Deputy Secretary Li, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests. He introduced that Hunan Province has an important position in China's regional economic pattern, boasting an advantageous geographical location, rich scientific and educational resources, a sound industrial foundation, and great market potential. The province has been following the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions made during his inspection tours in Hunan, to make sustained efforts to build the "Three Hubs".

Hunan and Cuba enjoy a sound foundation and broad prospects for cooperation, he said, hoping that both sides would work creatively based on respective supply capacity and demand potential. The two sides could efficiently make specific matchmaking and pragmatically facilitate collaboration in such fields as equipment manufacturing, modern agriculture, modern service industry, life and health, and culture and tourism. We may strengthen in-depth exchanges in jointly building an excellent innovation ecosystem and comprehensively deepening reform and opening up, so as to promote common development and better benefit the people's livelihood, he added.

The Cuban Ambassador thanked Hunan for its warm reception. He noted that Cuba is now vigorously developing its economy, which shares huge partnership potential with Hunan in the fields of renewable energy, independent computing, biomedicine, and agricultural industry. He expected to accelerate the establishment of friendly-province tie and increase personnel visits, advancing the cooperation to a higher level and wider fields.
