To coordinate with this dual-city event, Changsha launched a series of activities themed "Changsha embraces scent of cape jasmine and happiness of love". A giant pattern of cape jasmine was painted in the center of the pink zebra crossings in the Wuyi business district, expressing good wishes to the residents and tourists.

Cape jasmine was chosen as the theme flower of the event for two reasons: cape jasmine represents summer; and, both Changsha and Wuhan cities are superior in cape jasmine industry with distinctive characteristics.
The cape jasmine in Changsha, particularly those produced in Ningxiang, feature smaller leaves and single flowers, which can be used for both food and medicine; and, those in Wuhan feature bigger and double flowers.
This dual-city event, with cape jasmine as a go-between, will link the cultural tourism and consumption of Changsha and Wuhan, while bringing fortune to the flower growers and entertaining the people of the two cities.

Specifically, Changsha residents can enjoy discounted price of 160 yuan per person when purchasing the annual travel card of the Wuhan Metropolitan Area, which covers 106 scenic areas and cultural tourism projects and originally costs 200 yuan per person. Meanwhile, Wuhan residents can purchase the Changsha "Hi" Card at the price of only 190 yuan per person, which covers 108 scenic areas and cultural tourism projects and is originally priced at 238 yuan per person.
