3rd Hunan Tourism Development Conference Slated for September

The 3rd Hunan Tourism Development Conference will take place in Hengyang from September 20 to 22, according to a press conference held recently.

Li Aiwu, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, made a briefing at the press conference and revealed the theme of the 3rd session. The theme of the conference is "encouraging positive interplay between culture and tourism to increase the popularity of a calling card of Hunan's history and culture". 

The organizing committee will hold a series of activities in the form of "3+6", including three main events and six supporting events.
The three main events include:
- an observation tour to cultural tourism projects;
- an opening ceremony gala and a promotion conference; and,
- a conference on promoting the development of the tourism sector. 

The six supporting events include:
- the 8th Hunan Art Festival Mass Art Performances;
- the 2024 Hunan Cultural Tourism Industry Investment and Financing Conference;
- the 3rd Hunan Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo;
- Master Chuanshan-themed serial activities;
- the 2024 China Culinary Tourism Conference and "The Taste of Hengyang" Chef Gathering; and,
- Cultural tourism trips to five provinces.

The press conference announced the slogan of the 3rd Hunan Tourism Development Conference, that is, "Welcome to Charming Hunan, Meet in Hengyang". The logo is shaped in a way of mountains, using simple lines to outline elements such as mountains, waters, wild geese, and temples. The mascot is named "Huo Chu Quan", which is a blend of fashion, trendy designs and Hengyang elements, including Zhu Rong—the God of Fire in ancient Chinese mythology, as well as folk customs, ancient buildings, and Hengyang's eight prominent attractions.
