Changsha Huanghua International Airport registered a passenger throughput of 7.353 million in the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 33.7% compared with the figure in 2023. Meanwhile, the airport's cargo throughput grew by 22.2% year on year to 46,000 tonnes. Of the total, the international cargo throughput stood at 15,000 tonnes, up 28.4%.

In the first quarter, Changsha handled 372 China-Europe freight trains which carried goods worth 805 million US dollars, increasing by 78.59% on a yearly basis.

These busy air and land ports have witnessed Changsha's increasingly active international channels, and the city's channel economy is surging with strong momentum.

In order to optimize ports' business environment, Changsha's logistics port office and customs, airport, and railway authorities have coordinated efforts to launch favorable "gift packages" for enterprises. For example, thanks to a zone-port linkage information system, ports across the city are embracing faster intelligent process, providing one-stop declaration and release services on one platform. In addition, an "advance declaration" mode has been promoted for goods exported via the China-Europe freight train service. This has greatly shortened the overall customs clearance time for exports. Changsha Huanghua International Airport has created a brand of prioritizing customs clearance of fresh goods, standing at the forefront of China's airports in terms of customs clearance time.
