Changsha held a government-enterprise talkfest on China-Africa trade cooperation in Shenzhen on March 20. More than 20 high-quality enterprises engaged in cross-border economic and trade business with Africa participated, including Great Wall and Sunda International Group. Kang Zhenlin, vice mayor of Changsha City and chairman of the Changsha Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, attended.

In recent years, as two national platforms, namely the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation, successively settled in Changsha, Changsha has made new strides in its economic and trade cooperation with Africa. In 2023, Changsha's trade with Africa exceeded 20 billion yuan, accounting for about 40% of the province's total, and the value of the city's cross-border e-commerce imports and exports grew 16.9% year on year to 40.6 billion yuan. The Changsha Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone is among the country's first-tier comprehensive pilot zones with obvious results.

At the meeting, a person in charge of the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce presented and explained the status of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, cross-border e-commerce, and related policies in Changsha. Representatives from Hunan Xiangjiang New Area, Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area, Yuhua District, and Jinxia Economic and Technological Development Area made presentations respectively. Participating enterprise representatives expressed their hope to join hands with Changsha to explore the vast prospects of China-Africa trade cooperation.
