The Hunan Opera public-interest performances of the Changsha Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall in March kicked off recently. Nearly 20 classic Hunan Opera plays are scheduled to be staged at the exhibition hall's theater from March 5 to 10.
These Hunan Opera plays are put on by teachers from the Changsha Hunan Opera Protection and Inheritance Center at 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. every day from March 5 to 10.
The Changsha Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall has been a showcase for intangible cultural heritages since its opening in November 2018. More than 1,000 intangible cultural heritage performances have been staged, including Hunan Opera public-interest performances, Changsha Flower-drum Opera public-interest performances, and folk music performances, as well as special performances by troupes and children. The performance forms include Hunan Opera, Changsha Tanci (story-telling), Changsha Flower-drum Opera, Changsha allegro, oral stunts, crosstalk, folk music ensemble, and folk song singing. Meanwhile, intangible cultural heritage elements are skillfully incorporated into modern art performances, enabling people to enjoy intangible cultural heritage programs for free while experiencing the pleasant sound and rhyme of Hunan.
