On behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Secretary Shen welcomed the guests. He noted that when President Xi Jinping met with Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin last October, he hoped that the two sides would further enrich the concept of "Thailand and China are one family" in the new era, and that the two countries transform the benefits of their longstanding friendship into a driving force for mutually beneficial collaboration.
Secretary Shen explained that Hunan is located in the central region of China, with a large population and rapid economic development. Known for their boldness in ideas and endeavors, the people of Hunan have made significant contributions to Chinese history, especially in modern times. Hunan Province is willing to work with Thai people from all walks of life to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries. May both sides carry out more pragmatic exchanges and collaboration in economy and trade, the humanities, and other areas to achieve more fruitful results, he added.
Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai noted that this was his first visit to Hunan, during which he admired the rich cultural heritage of the region and gained insights into its achievements in economic and social progress. He hoped that both sides would uphold the concept of win-win development, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and work together to move towards a better future.
Provincial leader Zhang Yingchun joined the meeting.
