A centralized contracting, commencement, and production ceremony for Xiangtan's first batch of major projects in 2024 took place on February 22. There were 161 projects started construction or put into operation, with a total investment of 55.2 billion yuan.

The main venue of the event was located in the Xiangtan Economic and Technological Development Zone. There were 86 newly-started projects worth 29.5 billion yuan, and 75 completed ones valued at 25.7 billion yuan.

Meanwhile, 15 projects were signed on the spot, including 3 major industrial projects each worth more than 1 billion yuan; 2 invested by Fortune Global 500 enterprises, top 500 Chinese enterprises, and top 500 Chinese private enterprises; and, 5 from the returning Hunan-based entrepreneurs.

It was learned that between the end of February and early March, the CPC Xiangtan Municipal Committee leaders will also lead teams to attract investment in Beijing, Zhaoqing, Dongguan, and Foshan.
