Hunan's export of construction machinery hit 26.3 billion CNY in 2023, rising 43.7 percent over the previous year, which was 21.7 percentage points higher than the national average, according to the Changsha Customs Authority data on February 18. The export value to the countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative reached 18.95 billion CNY, up 48.9 percent.
In recent years, Hunan has thoroughly carried out a standardization reform for the export of remanufactured equipment of construction machinery. This reform has not only streamlined export channels but has also assisted the construction machinery sector in effectively managing cyclical risks. In the first three quarters of 2023, Zoomlion has made an overseas revenue of 13.029 billion CNY, a year-on-year increase of 100.53 percent. The proportion of the overseas revenue in its total revenue rose to a record 36.69 percent. Sinoboom, a new member of the Top 500 Construction Machinery Manufacturers, achieved overseas sales of 1.4 billion CNY in 2023, growing 75 percent year on year. And this figure is anticipated to exceed 2.5 billion CNY in 2024.
The Xingsha Custom Authority has supervised the export of more than 100 SANY-made crane trucks and crawler cranes to the Middle East. "These equipment will be applied in the large projects in Saudi Arabia, including the RED SEA Resort, new Riyadh Park, and DIRIYAH Heritage Park. The 750-ton crawler crane will make its debut in the Middle East market," said a logistics manager of SANY.
In order to support Hunan-made construction machinery to go global, the Xingsha Custom Authority has rolled out a processing trade supervision mode for leading enterprises such as Zoomlion and SANY. In 2023, the enterprises have realized voluntary deposit, transfer, and exchange of 176 million CNY of bonded products made from materials, saving costs of nearly three million CNY.
