The 2024 Zhangjiajie Lantern Fair is scheduled to be held in Zhangjiajie City from February 3 to 24.
The event features a theme lantern show with the Dayong Ancient Town as the core. It integrates elements of China-chic and intangible cultural heritage, bringing an immersive and romantic time travel experience to residents and tourists.
Various New Year fairs will be organized at the south entrance food court, the People's Square, and Dayong Ancient Town.
A cultural week will kick off on February 11, the second day of the first month in the Chinese lunar calendar. Art performances and street shows will be staged to enable residents and tourists to get a glimpse of Zhangjiajie's traditional folk culture and intangible cultural heritage.
Lighting ceremonies will be held at scenic areas inlcuding Tianmen Mountain, Qixing Mountain, Tujia Folk Custom Park, and Dayong Ancient Town; three bridges; river levees; and, Lishui River banks. Finally, all lanterns will be illuminated. A dazzling drone light show will be put on to celebrate the lunar new year.
