Hunan's Agricultural Machines Sell Well in Belt and Road Countries

Hunan exported 458 million yuan of agricultural machines in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 11.21%, according to the data released by the Changsha Customs Authority recently. The products were mainly exported to Belt and Road countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa.

As the Chinese Lunar New Year approaches, at a workshop of Hunan Chenzhou Grain and Oil Machinery Co., Ltd., complete sets of rice processing equipment worth 167,000 yuan are being packed for shipment to Southeast Asian countries. Li Yanjun, a person in charge of the company, said his company's self-developed rice milling machines have gained significant popularity in Southeast Asia and Africa. In 2023, the company's exports of agricultural machinery surged 43.4% year on year. Its orders in this regard are expected to increase this year. 

Hunan Jinsong Machinery Co., Ltd. in Loudi is one of Hunan's major agricultural machine export enterprises. Jiang Xiongbiao, a person in charge of the company, said that his company has focused on small-scale agricultural equipment for rice and corn cultivation, possessing an obvious competitive advantage in international market. In 2023, the company's exports amounted to 66 million yuan.

In 2023, Hunan initiated the cross-border e-commerce B2B export of agricultural machines to further expand export channels. The Changsha Customs Authority granted 1,572 certificates of origin to Hunan's agricultural machinery export enterprises. This initiative facilitated these enterprises in saving 24.207 million yuan in export tariffs.
