The Xianghui Science and Technology Park with a total investment of 260 million yuan started construction in Hunan Xiangjiang New Area on January 16. It will provide vital talent and intellectual support for Changsha to build a global research and development center and promote high-quality development and modernization. Tan Yong, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, secretary of the CPC Working Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha High-tech Zone), and secretary of the CPC Yuelu District Committee, announced the commencement of the project construction.
Located at the intersection of Yuexing Road and Hugao Road, the park has a net land area of about 14 mu (0.93 ha.) and a total construction area of nearly 30,000 square meters. It is an important public service platform project undertaking the construction of a national human resources service industrial park in Changsha. It aims to build a high-tech industrial park integrating sci-tech innovation, R&D, and application of human resources. The project is scheduled to be capped in October this year. Upon completion, the project is expected to achieve an annual revenue of nearly 10 billion yuan and a tax revenue of 500 million yuan and serve more than 200,000 people.
In recent years, Xiangjiang New Area has been committed to gathering talents through industries and relying on talents to lead the industries. The total number of talents in the directly-administered area reached 900,000. More than 40 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering and 2,400 high-level talents have been introduced, and 146 well-known human resource service agencies have settled there. A virtuous circle of "talents gathering, science and technology flourishing, and industries becoming strong" has been created.
