The ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation Exhibition Center Project was launched in Huaihua City, Hunan Province on January 16. The project aims to enhance trade between Huaihua and ASEAN countries, with a focus on promoting the exchange of commercial products. The aim is to build a platform for foreign trade, exhibition and sales of ASEAN commodities and to establish an economic and trade cooperation demonstration base featuring foreign trade and bulk commodity trading with ASEAN countries.
Huaihua is the only ASEAN cargo distribution center among the five major international freight centers in Hunan. The center will make use of the Huaihua International Land Port Logistics Park's advantages in warehousing, transportation, distribution, and value-added logistics services. By integrating relevant resources and enhancing logistical services, the center aims to establish a platform for the consolidation of ASEAN commodities. This initiative seeks to foster increased economic and trade exchanges between China and the ASEAN countries.
The center is located in the Wulingshan Cross-border Commodity Trading Center of the Huaihua International Land Port Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a total planned area of about 2,000 square meters and a total investment of 100 million yuan. The center will be equipped with an ASEAN countries exhibition area, an ASEAN commodity trading area, and an international business negotiation area. The center will provide immersive business experience through an online digital platform and an offline exhibition hall, creating a "365-day continuous trade fair" and unleashing the driving effect of the center.
The center is the first stop for foreign goods mainly from ASEAN members to enter the Huaihua market, and is also an important window for local merchants in Huaihua to expand overseas markets. Currently, more than 1,000 kinds of commodities are represented here, attracting domestic and foreign businesses to negotiate for cooperation.
At present, the Huaihua International Land Port has opened four international logistics channels, including the China-Laos Railway freight train service and the China-Vietnam Railway freight train service, with more than 80 domestic and international routes. Seventy percent of goods shipped along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor have departed from Huaihua to ASEAN destinations. The port has also set up two overseas warehouses, providing the functions of customs clearance, customs inspection, and quarantine.
