Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests and briefed them on the economic and social development of Hunan. He noted that Hunan boasts rapid economic growth, solid industrial foundation, and rich scientific and educational resources. Hunan people, with characteristic pioneering spirit and broad horizon of opening up, have always dared to think and try. There is huge potential, vast space, and a promising future for cooperation between Hunan and Singapore.
The province has been striving to build itself into a hub of reform and opening-up in inland regions, he said, hoping to accelerate the construction of a working mechanism for collaboration between Hunan and Singapore, and further promote closer exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in more fields. Hunan sincerely welcomes more Singaporean enterprises to visit and invest in Hunan, sharing the benefits of development, he added.
Ms. Sim Ann remarked that this was her first visit to Changsha, Hunan. She had an intuitive understanding of Hunan's humanistic history and development, which further deepened her understanding of the province. Hunan enterprises have international vision and capability to expand globally, with a rich historical and cultural heritage. She expected to further economic and trade interactions and youth exchanges and visits with Hunan, strengthening closer friendship between the two sides and achieving more fruitful cooperation results.
