The Hunan Museum made an announcement on extending its opening hours on January 1, 2024 on its official website on December 26. The museum will open during the New Year's Day holiday period from December 30, 2023 to January 1, 2024 and extend its opening hours to 20:30 (last entry at 19:30) on New Year's Day. The museum will be closed on January 2, 2024.

The museum will introduce an additional reservation time slot from 16:00 to 19:30 to accommodate 5,000 individual visitors. The museum only accepts real-name online reservation. All visitors can make a reservation seven days in advance (excluding the reservation day) via the museum's official website, official WeChat account and Alipay mini-program. Once the reservation is successfully made, visitors can enter the museum by presenting their reservation records along with valid identification documents.

Reservation for the period between 16:00 and 19:30 on January 1, 2024 is available online now.
