The Hunan Provincial People's Government held a press conference in Changsha on December 25 to commend advanced groups and individuals of the second New Hunan Contribution Award and to release the 2023 list of Hunan's top 100 private enterprises.

Seventy-nine private enterprises such as Changsha BYD Auto Co., Ltd. received the title of "Advanced Groups of the New Hunan Contribution Award", and 100 private entrepreneurs such as Xiang Wenbo were honored as "Advanced Individuals of the New Hunan Contribution Award". A total of 55 enterprises from Changsha were listed as Hunan's top 100 private enterprises, occupying more than half of the top 100 private enterprises in the province.

The list was proposed by the Hunan Federation of Industry and Commerce based on a provincial survey on private enterprises above a designated scale this year and the enterprises' operating revenue ranking in 2022. Sany Group Co., Ltd. topped the list with a revenue of over 126.226 million yuan, followed by Changsha BYD Auto Co., Ltd. and Dahan Holding Group Co., Ltd.

Among the top 100 private enterprises, 66 were from the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan area, 15 from the Dongting Lake area, 11 from the southern Hunan area, and 8 from the Greater Xiangxi area.

Changsha has the most enterprises on the list, followed by Zhuzhou and Yueyang, each with 8.

The list has the following characteristics:

Firstly, the entry threshold continued to rise. The entry threshold in terms of revenue for this year's top 100 list was 2.775 billion yuan, an increase of 26.71% over the previous year.

Secondly, both operating revenue and assets exceeded one trillion yuan. The total operating income of the top 100 private enterprises stood at over 1.102 trillion yuan, up 2.28% over the previous year. The total assets of these enterprises rose 1.57% year-on-year to more than 1.130 billion yuan.

Thirdly, manufacturing enterprises dominated the top 100 private enterprises, with the number increasing by 1 from the previous year to 46 this year. They generated combined revenues of 673.507 billion yuan, accounting for 61.08% of the total. The total assets were 726.399 billion yuan, accounting for 64.25% of the total.

Fourthly, the strength in sci-tech innovation continued to improve. The top 100 private enterprises held a total of 29,156 valid patents at home and abroad, including 28,888 domestic valid patents, a 31.92% year-on-year rise.

Fifthly, the top 100 private enterprises made a significant social contribution. They paid a total tax of 34.853 billion yuan, accounting for 17.39% of the province's total. They created 532,700 jobs, playing a vital role in stabilizing employment and increasing income.
