Hunan Completes Annual Tasks to Improve People's Well-being

Twenty projects of the ten major matters concerning people's livelihood have all been handled and four of them have achieved the expected monitoring targets, according to a special task force on ensuring people's livelihood in Hunan Province on December 24. The task force confirmed the completion of all tasks improving people's well-being, ensuring the continuing enhancement of people's sense of happiness, gain, and security.

Hunan Province has strengthened efforts in improving people's livelihood in the following ten aspects since the beginning of this year.

- One hundred county-level senior high schools, known as the Xu Teli Project, began construction throughout the province, establishing a new landmark of high-quality development in this regard.

- 17,000 government services can now be handled online via the "Xiang Yi Ban" super service app, and applications can be submitted through the app for 202 e-licenses. The number of "Xiang Yi Ban" app users has reached more than 33.4 million.

- A total of 743,500 new urban jobs have been created in Hunan and the province has subsidized professional training programs with 553,900 participants.

- A total of 119,900 or 90% of unemployed graduates have found employment.

- A "Human Resources and Social Security Supermarket" was launched online, providing such information as policy documents; employment and internship posts; human resources information; and, vocational skills and entrepreneurship training. 

- The treatment capacity of medical institutions has continuously been strengthened , achieving direct settlement of medical expenses incurred outside the patient's location and the handling of medical insurance affairs on behalf of the patients at the community-level service centers.

- The number of elderly-care facility beds, subsistence allowances for urban and rural residents, and living expenses for disabled persons in need have been increased.

- A total of 2,000 old urban residential communities included in projects concerning people's livelihood have been renovated.

- A total of 5,695 km of rural roads have been upgraded and renovated in the province, accelerating the construction of roads to facilitate farming life and production and to further boost local businesses and tourism and building two rural networks to support rural revitalization.

- Hunan's national monitoring sections have consistently maintained excellent or good water quality and practical measures have been taken to protect the Yangtze River.
