On December 24, two days ahead of the 130th anniversary of late Chinese Chairman Mao Zedong's birthday, a ceremony was held at the Shaoshan Mao Zedong Library, Xiangtan, to mark the opening of its red video hall and the launching of a "China has Mao Zedong" digital exhibition.
Mainly displaying images and videos about Mao Zedong, the video hall adopts digital and interactive technologies to provide visitors with an immersive exhibition, allowing them to view, experience, and contemplate the exhibition. More than 50 videos and nearly 200 images and documents are on display. Among those, the feature films Forever Memory and You Come Towards Us jointly produced by the Hunan Provincial Shaoshan Administration and the China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio, as well as some precious images and videos of Mao Zedong are made public for the first time.
The digital exhibition hall presents a life-sized replica on cloud of the Mao Zedong's Life Story Exhibition Area of the Shaoshan Mao Zedong Memorial Museum. Comparing with the physical one, the digital exhibition hall provides more personalized services for visitors, such as tailored explanations, guided themes, and routes. Vistors can get access to the digital exhibition on the official website and WeChat public account of Tianxia Shaoshan (天下韶山).
