On December 19, after passing the Yongzhou Customs inspection, nearly 15 tons of edible mushrooms of a Hunan-based biotechnology company were transported from Yongzhou to Vietnam via the Pingxiang Port in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

In recent years, Yongzhou's high-quality agricultural products have entered overseas markets and have become particularly popular in the ASEAN countries. The export of edible mushrooms, fresh vegetables, and melons and fruits increased rapidly. Between January and November, Yongzhou has exported 107,000 tons of agricultural products to the ASEAN countries, with a total value of 1.38 billion CNY. The export volume and value were respectively up 1.1 percent and 12.9 percent. The volume of exported edible mushrooms amounted to 35,000 tons, worth 550 million CNY and taking up more than 30 percent of the total of agricultural product exports. Meanwhile, the export of fruits and vegetables such as oranges, taros, and pumpkins surged, with the export volume of each category exceeding 500 tons.

Yongzhou boasts multiple categories and high quality of agricultural products, and short transportation distance, which have become its advantages for entering the ASEAN market. The Yongzhou Customs authority has provided customized policy guidance for enterprises, opened "green channels" to facilitate export of fresh products such as fruits and vegetables, and accelerated and streamlined the inspection and approval procedures. It has carried out "cloud" approval and self-service printing system for the Certificates of Origin (C/O), enabling enterprise applicants to obtain the C/O without going to the customs.

Between January and November this year, the Yongzhou Customs authority has issued 1,920 China-ASEAN C/Os for the exported agricultural products, rising 19.9 percent over the previous year.

So far, Yongzhou has established economic and trade ties with ten ASEAN countries. ASEAN has become Yongzhou's largest trading partner.
