Changsha stood out from many Chinese cities to receive the Award of Most Attractive Organizations to Talents at the 2023 China Best Employer Award Ceremony and International Management Forum of Human Capital. This is the first time that Changsha has won this honor, and it is also the only city in Hunan to claim this title in 2023.
The selection event was organized by the Social Survey Research Center of Peking University, the National School of Development of Peking University, the recruitment platform Zhaopin and other professional institutions.
The organizing committee observed the performance of each city in talent attraction and retention through professional and scientific investigation and selection, based on the talent recruitment information submitted by each city and Zhaopin big data (each accounts for 50% of the score). Urban employment big data analysis was conducted from three dimensions: talent attraction, talent retention rate, and talent vitality. A city's policies, regulations, systems, activities, achievements, and other factors in talent attraction and retention were also taken into account.
According to the selection results, a total of 16 Chinese cities including Changsha, Chengdu, Ji'nan, and Shijiazhuang were listed as the winners of the Award of Most Attractive Organizations to Talents.
After years of continuous efforts, Changsha has seen the number of talents increase from 1.1 million in 2017 to 3.02 million in 2022. The city's net inflow rate of middle and high-end talents was among the top three in China, and its talent attraction index ranked 10th nationwide and first in central China. In 2022, the city's population grew by 181,300, ranking first in the country.
