Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met in Changsha with John Z. Zhang, senior vice president and general manager of Display and Corning Asia, and his entourage on the morning of December 9, 2023.

Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests and briefed them on the economic and social development of Hunan. He noted that Hunan has a solid industrial foundation, rich scientific and educational resources, and an abundant supply of talents. The whole province has been thoroughly implementing the beautiful blueprint of "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy depicted by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and strongly supporting Changsha to become a global research and development center. He expected the Corning Incorporated to increase its R&D and investment layout in Hunan, sharing common development opportunities. Hunan would continue to optimize the business environment and create sound conditions for foreign enterprises to thrive here, he added.

Mr. Zhang thanked the Hunan government for its strong support to Corning and introduced Corning's business development in Hunan. He believed that Hunan has unique advantages in industrial development and sci-tech research and education resources. Corning is very optimistic about the opportunities for development in Hunan, he said, adding that the company is willing to further strengthen the strategic partnership with Hunan, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and better achieve win-win results.
