On December 6, Liu Guoyong, deputy director of the General Administration of Sport of China, came to Changsha to inspect the cultivation of sports reserve talents. Luo Shuangquan, director of the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau, and Gao Wenqi, vice mayor of Changsha City, participated.
On the morning of the same day, Deputy Director Liu Guoyong and his delegation attended the opening ceremony of the 4th National "Sports School Cup" Football Competition (women's group) at the First High School of Wangcheng District, Changsha. Afterwards, they convened a symposium on football reserve talent training with leaders of 31 participating teams. At the symposium, representatives of the Hunan Sports School and the Changsha Youth Sports School respectively introduced the training programs and progress of young women football players in Hunan Province and Changsha City.
That afternoon, Deputy Director Liu Guoyong and his delegation visited the Changsha Gymnastics School to inspect the school's training venues and athletes' learning and living areas, and to learn about the school's training facilities, faculty, student enrollment, and talent selection process.
The inspection team highly appreciated the training of competitive sports reserve talents in Hunan Province and Changsha City. They urged the provincial and municipal authorities to prioritize the development of foundation, strengthen the layout, invest more time and energy in traditional sports such as football and gymnastics, broaden horizons in the integration of sports and education, talent selection, team building and other aspects, continue to disseminate the current advanced experience, and enhance learning to make up for shortcomings, so as to foster more excellent competitive sports reserve talents for the country.
