2023 Hunan (Winter) Rural Cultural Tourism Festival Opens

The 2023 Hunan (Winter) Rural Cultural Tourism Festival, the Hunan Winter "Village Gala" Demonstration Activities, and also the 2nd Changde Tourism Development Conference opened at the Yunding Hot Spring Resort in Reshi Town, Taoyuan County on the evening of December 6.

A variety of art performances, including singing and folk dance of the Tujia ethnic group were the climax of the opening ceremony.

The festival was hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the CPC Changde Municipal Committee, and the People's Government of Changde City. Themed "Welcome to Charming Hunan and Fairyland Taoyuan", five main events are scheduled to be held, including:
- 2023 Hunan Winter "Village Gala" Demonstration Activities;
- Exploration and experience of Changde's featured rural cultural tourism route;
- An opening ceremony;
- A government-bank-enterprise matchmaking conference; and,
- Yunding Hot Spring Creative Shows and also a salon on fitness industry empowering rural revitalization.

Directors of the cultural tourism bureaus of Shaoyang, Yiyang, Loudi, Huaihua, Yongzhou, and Changde illuminated an electronic map on farming culture, symbolizing the interconnected development and collaboration among these regions, which collectively serve as Hunan's farming culture calling card named "Fields of Hope".

In recent years, Changde City has invested more than 30 billion yuan in the cultural and tourism sectors, upgrading Chengtoushan Ancient Cultural Site, Taohuayuan Scenic Area, Liuye Lake, Changde River Street, Hunan Changde Wildlife World, and Reshi Hot Spring Resort. This year Changde signed 17 cultural tourism projects, with a total investment of 1,792 million yuan. In particular, Taoyuan County has explored integrated development of agriculture, tourism, culture, sports, and health industries, blazing a new path where rural tourism empowers rural revitalization.
