The 2023 "Hunan Products Go Global" Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Match-making Event was held in Shenzhen on December 1. More than 220 Hunan-based agricultural enterprises participated.
At a promotion meeting, the Guangdong Provincial Supply and Marketing Cooperatives and its Hunan counterpart unit reached a strategic cooperation agreement. Meanwhile, 40 enterprises contracted on the procurement of 22 categories of agricultural products, with intent to purchase orders of 1.02 billion yuan.
This three-day match-making event was co-hosted by the Hunan Provincial Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, the Hunan Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government in Shenzhen. Relying on the 2023 World Food and Agricultural Expo (Shenzhen), the exhibition area of Hunan exhibitors totaled 1,600 square meters, consisting of 15 pavilions for specialty industries and Hunan's cities and prefecture. More than 1,200 Hunan-made agricultural products were on display.
The Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Shenzhen and non-residents from Hunan became "chief recommendation officers" at the event, to promote quality Hunan products in the GBA. Hunan's agricultural enterprises directly contacted their counterparts, chambers of commerce, and catering companies in the GBA, thus contributing to the direct delivery of various agricultural products from their places of origin to people's dining tables, following a "farm-to-table" approach.
According to the strategic cooperation agreement signed by the Supply and Marketing Cooperatives of Hunan and Guangdong provinces, the two sides will give full play to their respective advantages as the place of origin and the place of marketing. They will make joint efforts in eight aspects, including mutual learning of the reform and development results and experience, constructing a rural trade system, promoting production and marketing of high-quality agricultural products, enhancing farming supplies and agro-technology services, boosting food production and marketing, developing a "digital supply and marketing" mode, reinforcing close-knit enterprise cooperation, and innovating the talent exchange mechanism, so as to promote the high-quality development of Hunan-Guangdong cooperation.
