The No. 18 Factory of Sany Group in Changsha is well-known both inside and outside the industry for its incomparable intelligent level and has become a veritable internet-famous factory.

A main bearing, with a diameter of 8.61 meters, rolled off the production line at the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation on October 12, 2023. It is currently the largest and heaviest integrated shield tunneling machine main bearing worldwide, which is capable of bearing the highest load.

Changsha has hit a new high in the 2023 ranking of China's top 100 advanced manufacturing cities, moving up two places from its position in 2022 to 6th this year, according to a report released by CCID Consulting recently.

The domestic economy has been experiencing a faster recovery since the beginning of this year. Changsha, a city that is supported by and strong in the industry sector, has been focusing on developing industrial chains, clusters, and industrial parks to advance new industrialization and to help build itself into a hub of national importance for advanced manufacturing.

Data show that, from January to October this year, the added value of Changsha's industrial enterprises above a designated size grew by 6.5%, higher than the provincial and national levels. It is worth noting that in the first three quarters, the added value of the city's manufacturing industry accounted for 28% of its GDP. Manufacturing is playing an increasingly supportive role, and so is its "cornerstone" role in stabilizing the economy.
