A symposium on promoting high-quality development of industrial tourism of Hunan Province was held in Changsha on November 22. The meeting unveiled a total of 22 provincial industrial tourism demonstration sites for 2023.

In recent years, Hunan has seized opportunities to develop industrial tourism, making the province at the forefront nationwide in the number of industrial tourism demonstration bases. So far, Hunan has more than 20,000 industrial enterprises, including six selected as national industrial (heritage) tourism demonstration bases and 117 honored as provincial industrial tourism demonstration sites. Of the total, 0.5% enterprises engage in industrial tourism.

By 2025, Hunan will have built a number of national industrial tourism demonstration bases, national industrial heritage tourism bases, and provincial industrial tourism bases. An industrial tourism development pattern with rational layout, distinctive characteristics, perfect functions, and quality services will basically take shape. By 2030, Hunan aims to establish 200 provincial industrial tourism bases, placing it at the forefront nationwide in terms of the level of development of industrial tourism.

The meeting stressed the need to strengthen protection and utilization of industrial heritage, develop distinctive industrial tourism products, diversify forms of consumption in industrial tourism, expand channels to promote industrial tourism, and open new ground for high-quality development of industrial tourism.
