Vice Governor Qin Led Delegation to the United States, New Zealand, Australia

Qin Guowen, vice governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, led a delegation to visit the United States, New Zealand, and Australia from October 24 to November 3, 2023. The delegation actively upheld the overall conditions of national diplomacy, seeking to align the high-quality resources of the three countries, strengthening exchanges and cooperation, and boosting the "Three Hubs" construction of Hunan Province.


On October 26, Vice Governor Qin met with Professor Salovey, president of Yale University.


In the United States, Vice Governor Qin met with the president of the Senate of North Carolina, Hunan's international friendship province. He also met with the mayor of New Haven, a sister-city of Changsha, reviewing the course of exchanges and looking forward to a better future. He attended the statue donation ceremony of Yan Fuqing at the Yale School of Medicine, summarizing cooperative results and reflecting on the century-long friendship between Yale and Hunan. He met with the president of Yale University, the president of the Yale-China Association, the dean of the Yale School of Medicine, and the leader of North Carolina State University, to promote communication and collaboration in the fields of education, health care, and science and technology. He also met with the leader of the GE Healthcare Group, to realize the intentions reached by both sides in the early stages of cooperation, and to strengthen the economic and trade exchanges with U.S. enterprises.

On October 30, Vice Governor Qin inspected the Center for Creative Science and Technology of the Unitec Institute of Technology in New Zealand.


In New Zealand, Qin inspected the housing construction project of the Hunan Construction Investment Group and talked with the leader of Puyu Nutritional Products Company. He learned about conditions for enterprises "going global", and encouraged Hunan enterprises to coordinate domestic and foreign resources, enhance brand-building, and explore the international market. He then visited the Unitec Institute of Technology and witnessed the signing ceremony between the Hunan Institute of Engineering and the Unitec Institute of Technology.


On November 2, Qin Guowen attended the advanced manufacturing promotion meeting of Hunan Province in Sydney, Australia.


In Australia, Vice Governor Qin paid a visit to Ausnutria Dairy and met with leaders of the FMG Group and Victoria State government officials. He held a promotion meeting for Hunan's advanced manufacturing industries, and invited enterprises to invest in Hunan and pushed forward practical cooperation. He also visited Torrens University to advance exchanges and cooperation in vocational education.


During the tour, the delegation also visited heads of China's embassies and consulates in New Zealand, New York, and Melbourne. They introduced Hunan's development, listened to suggestions on foreign contacts, spoke with the Chinese and overseas Chinese chambers of commerce, and carried out provincial promotion and investment activities.
