Changsha Delegation Visits Cambodia

A Changsha delegation led by Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee visited Cambodia from November 2 to 4. They came to meet with local politicians, witness the signing of projects, promote cultural tourism, and strengthen sister city exchanges, so as to promote the China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.

During the visit, Secretary Wu Guiying met with Keut Che, acting governor of Phnom Penh; Kha Leng, Cambodian vice minister of commerce; Prak Phannara, secretary of state at the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia; and Yun Linne, deputy governor of Siem Reap, to deepen friendship, promote Changsha, and discuss cooperation. They reached consensus on various issues.

Wu Guiying noted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Cambodia, and the China-Cambodia Friendship Year. China and Cambodia enjoy a time-honored friendship with a sound foundation and broad space for exchanges and cooperation. It is sincerely hoped that under the guidance of the Belt and Road Initiative, all parties in Changsha and Cambodia will actively enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in a wider scope, broader areas and at a deeper level in such fields as modern agriculture, construction machinery, cultural tourism, education and technology, and contribute more to China-Cambodia friendship. The Cambodian side said that under the guidance of the friendly relations between Cambodia and China, Cambodia and Changsha have carried out fruitful cooperation in various fields. They cherish this traditional friendship and hope that the two sides can give full play to their respective advantages to push forward friendly cooperation for more fruitful outcomes.


Secretary Wu Guiying delivered a speech and witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements at a Changsha-Cambodia economic and trade exchange promotion conference in Phnom Penh on November 3.

A Changsha-Cambodia economic and trade exchange promotion conference took place in Phnom Penh on November 3. During the promotion conference, a total of 9 projects worth 660 million US dollars were signed, covering industrial fields such as construction machinery, biomedicine, and modern agriculture.


Secretary Wu Guiying witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements at a cultural tourism promotion conference of Changsha, themed "Happy Changsha · Charming Star City", in Siem Reap on November 4.

A cultural tourism promotion conference of Changsha, themed "Happy Changsha · Charming Star City" was held in Siem Reap on November 4. Secretary Wu Guiying delivered a speech at the conference. She also witnessed the establishment of strategic cooperation between Changsha and Siem Reap's tourism departments and the signing of cooperation agreements between the Changsha Travel Agencies Association and the Cambodia Tourism Association and the Cambodian-Chinese Cultural and Tourism Industry Promotion Association, as well as an agreement on chartered flights between the Hunan Overseas Travel Co., Ltd. and Angkor Air.

The Changsha delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia. They had in-depth discussions with Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian on deepening Changsha-Cambodia exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade, cultural tourism, sister cities, and other aspects.
