The International Natural Fiber Organization (INFO) held a symposium on sustainable development in Changsha, Hunan on November 5, 2023.
More than 200 expert representatives of the INFO member countries including China, the Netherlands, Canada, Greece, Malaysia, Brazil, Kenya, Tanzania, and Nigeria, attended.
Before the symposium, the foreign experts visited the cities of Nanning in Guangxi, Zhanjiang in Guangdong, and Changsha and Yueyang in Hunan to conduct field inspections and research on the cultivation, production, and processing of fiber crops. They were all impressed by the development of China's natural fiber industry and expressed their expectation of further exchange and cooperation.
INFO General Secretary Dilip Tambyrajah mentioned that the organization is currently discussing the possibility of relocating its headquarters to Changsha. They believe that Asia would provide a better environment for INFO's development, with China playing an important role. They are looking forward to strong cooperation with China.
