2023 Hunan (Changsha) Cross-border E-commerce Trade Fair Witnesses Fruitful Results

The 2023 Hunan (Changsha) Cross-border E-commerce Trade Fair was held in Changsha between October 20 and 23. It attracted 20,000 guests and merchants resulting in various cooperative agreements and intended orders. The Department of Commerce of Hunan Province announced fruitful results of the fair on November 2, 2023.


This year's fair had an international presence. Government departments and enterprises from more than 10 countries, including Rwanda, Australia, and South Korea, as well as representatives of international economic and trade promotion organizations, such as the International Trade Center (ITC) and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), attended at the invitation. The Rwandan ambassador to China appeared in the fair livestreaming, recommending coffee beans, chili peppers, black soap, and other African "goodies". The China-Africa Cross-border E-commerce Service Center was inaugurated at the fair, to deepen the "Silk Road E-commerce" collaboration.


The cross-border e-commerce characteristic industrial belts have formed groups to "go global". SheIn, Amazon, and other e-commercial platforms had economic and trade exchanges with over ten kinds of foreign trade characteristic industrial belts like Hunan daily necessities, clothing, hair products, and 3C digital.


Hunan's cities and prefecture, and key industrial parks and zones took advantage of the fair to carry out cross-border e-commerce investment promotion. They invited guests to Hunan to take inspection tours and secured more than 50 cooperation projects to settle down in Hunan. Ebrun Power and Guangzhou Wig Association will set up branch centers in Hunan. The Hunan Free Trade Zone Digital Science and Technology Center Industrial Park, Yuhua Cross-border Livestream Incubation Center, and other key projects were signed on the spot. Changde held two economic and trade matchmaking meetings with Kenyan and Australian business groups, and reached intended cooperation deals with more than 20 cross-border e-commerce enterprises.


The cross-border e-commerce has injected fresh vitality into foreign trade growth. The import and export volume of cross-border e-commerce in Hunan Province amounted to 41.23 billion yuan in 2022, up 51.5% year on year, with the total volume ranking eighth nationwide.
