A pink train, fully loaded with Geely vehicles, departed from Zhuzhou to Malaysia on October 31, 2023. This marked the 400th train on the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea intermodal transport channel this year. The achievement signifies the completion of the annual target for the rail-sea intermodal transport service two months ahead of schedule.
Since its initiation in Zhuzhou in 2021, the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa Rail-Sea Express has delivered Hunan's automobiles, steel, chemicals, ceramics, grains, teas, and other goods to Nansha Port in Guangzhou. The cargos were further shipped to the port of Mombasa, Kenya, establishing a brand-new import and export corridor from Hunan to Africa.
The rail-sea intermodal transport mode shortens the whole process by about 10 to 15 days compared with the river-sea one, which effectively helps enterprises solve the problems of long logistics turnaround time and high comprehensive logistics costs.
