The 2023 China Outdoor Fitness and Leisure Conference (Tongdao Station) and the Hunan Tongdao Dong Lusheng Festival will be held in Tongdao Dong Autonomous County between November 4 and 5.

This year marks the first time that the conference will be held in Tongdao Dong Autonomous County. A total of 1,600 outdoor sports enthusiasts will participate in the event which integrates sports, cultural tourism, and intangible cultural heritage.  

The event features such races as 10km Cycling Race; 10km Running Race; a contest of playing Lusheng, a reed-pipe musical instrument; and, extreme bicycle motocross performances. The courses will pass through Dutian Dong Village, Hengling Dong Village, Pingtan Neighborhood, and Pingtan Ancient Dong Village, where the traditional customs of the Dong ethnic group are well preserved.

The Lusheng Festival of the Dong ethnic group is held annually in Tongdao Dong Autonomous County. This year Lusheng performing troupes from Hunan and Guizhou provinces will participate in a contest in Pingtan Village. The Lusheng of the Dong ethnic group is a representative of national intangible cultural heritage items. 

Competitors, with their wristbands, can bring one family member with them for free admission to Wanfo Mountain, Huangdu Dong Cultural Village, Yutou Ancient Dong Village, and Shenxian Cave. They can also enjoy discounts in a long-table banquet and a live-action Dong village-background performance called "Love Song of Wuliang."
