Hunan Province organized cultural and tourism promotion activities in Central American countries including the United Mexican States and the Dominican Republic from October 17 to 26. The aim was to present the new image of Hunan's culture and tourism under the slogan "Welcome to Charming Hunan" and explore opportunities in the Central American market.
The promotion activities were organized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism with the following purposes:
--to implement the strategic blueprint of "Three Hubs and Four New Missions";
--to accelerate the development of Hunan as a world-famous tourist destination;
--to promote the deep integration of culture and tourism;
--to strengthen people-to-people exchanges;
--to effectively communicate and share Hunan's stories; and,
--to amplify the voice of Hunan on the global stage.

The attendees included leaders, representatives of renowned travel media, celebrities in cultural and tourism circle, and travel agents from the United Mexican States and the Dominican Republic, and persons in charge of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Provincial Department of Finance, the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Hunan Daily, Hunan Broadcasting System, the Hunan Cultural Center, and Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television as well as representatives of cultural tourism enterprises of Hunan Province.

Hunan held cultural tourism promotion conferences, played a promotional video about Hunan's cultural tourism resources, and introduced its five calling cards and two quality travel routes. Art performances with Hunan characteristics such as folk song and shadow play won applause from the audience.
An exhibition featuring 40 cultural tourism photos was launched to present history, culture, and unique natural landscape of Hunan Province. Focusing on brands such as Hunan embroidery, Hunan tea, and Hunan opera, intangible cultural heritage inheritors were invited to show traditional skills of Hunan embroidery, Tantou wooden New Year paintings, Tujia brocade, Dong brocade, Anhua dark tea, flower-drum opera, palm fibre weaving, chrysanthemum stone carving, and oil-paper umbrella. It aimed to intensively display cultural creative products and help them go global.

In addition, Hunan Everbright International Travel Service and Mexico Alifante Tur S.A. de C.V. inked a Memorandum of Understanding on marketing cooperation, aiming to expand the scale of mutual visits of tourists and actively promote market prosperity and business revitalization. The Hunan Everbright International Travel Service also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with a tourism company based in the Dominican Republic. The Hunan Broadcasting System signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the State Radio and Television Corporation of the Dominican Republic, donating broadcasting equipment worth 400,000 yuan to the latter. Hunan Daily signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Fundación Jade Pro Comunidad China.
